Capacity Building and Continuous Improvement Audits

Overview

Sustainable business growth requires solid, actionable intelligence and a practical action plan that enables excellence across the global value chain. UL's capacity building and continuous improvement audits identify root causes of noncompliance and help create a solid foundation that can provide all stakeholders with a sustainable return on investment.

Definition

UL’s capacity building and continuous improvement audits identify gaps in the management systems of a factory to address root causes of issues found during workplace audits. Target areas include factory management, policies, training, communications, monitoring and governance. Engagements can be tailored to focus on one topic area, such as working hours, fire safety and human resource (HR) management.

Benefits

Our systems gap assessments (SGAs) provide customers with a clear understanding of systemic issues that may be impacting business growth. With a firm grasp of failures in existing management systems, customers may opt to implement a continuous improvement program to address these issues, with the aim of providing benefits to all stakeholders in the value chain.
